About the writers:
Jonah Raskin is newly retired from teaching at Sonoma State University and the author
of two new books: Marijuanaland: Dispatches from an American War and Rock 'n Roll
Women: Portraits of a Generation.
Jean Hegland is the author of two novels, Into the Forest, and Windfalls, as well as a
book of creative non-fiction, The Life Within: Celebration of Pregnancy. An adjunct
instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College, she lives outside of Healdsburg, where she is

Timothy Williams is a guitarist, poet and publisher of Jaxon's Press in Santa Rosa. He
believes poetry and music are one conversation. His credits include: Sleepless Fires, a
chapbook of poems (Running Wolf Press), and Lunch at Lola's, a poetry and music CD.
Patti Trimble is a widely published poet who lives in Petaluma and Sicily, where she's a
writing professor for Arcadia University. Recently, Patti has been writing poems and
creating paintings for a solo exhibit focused on endangered plants and how embracing
our innate love of beauty might lead us to do the right thing. pattitrimble.com
Joy Lanzendorfer's articles and fiction have appeared in the Black Warrior Review,
Necessary Fiction, Word Riot, Salon, San Francisco Chronicle, North Bay Bohemian,
and many others. She's also co-founder of the local writing group, Word Pirates.
